Prof. Joyanta Choudhury

I received my PhD in 2006 from IIT Kharagpur, India working under the Prof. Sujit Roy in the field of Transition Metal-Tin Heterobimetallic Organometallic Chemistry. After two postdoctoral stints at the Scripps Research Institute in Florida with Prof. Roy A. Periana and at the Weizmann Institute of Science with Prof. Milko E. van der Boom as a Marie Curie International Incoming Fellow. Afterwards I joined the Department of Chemistry, IISER Bhopal, India, in 2011, where I'm currently working as Professor. My research focuses on catalysis and smart materials. In catalysis, my research focuses on the activation and functionalization of CO2 , H2 , H2O, alkanes, and arenes with the help of transition metal-NHC platforms. In materials area, I work on the design and implementation of multifunctional, stimuli-switchable materials in energy, environmental and other smart applications.
